What makes Wallaby Organic Yogurt different?
While traveling in Australia, founders Jerry & Faith tasted wonderful yogurts unlike anything in America. Rather than adding gelatins for thickness, our yogurt uses a slow cooking process to create a naturally smooth and creamy Australian-style texture. It takes about twice as long to make Wallaby Organic as it does conventional yogurts. The smooth texture and mild taste – the result of our slow, gentle culturing process – is what differentiates Wallaby Organic from other yogurts.
Why do you call it "Wallaby" Organic Yogurt?
Since our yogurt was inspired in Australia, we decided to name it after something unique to that country. Read the full story here.
Does Wallaby Organic Yogurt contain live and active probiotic cultures?
Absolutely. Since our yogurt is cultured after pasteurization, it contains living and active acidophilus, bifidus, bulgaricus, and thermophilus probiotic cultures. Probiotics are naturally beneficial, helping to maintain a healthy digestive system. Studies are showing that probiotic cultures may be helpful to our bodies in other ways as well:
L. BULGARICUS and S. THERMOPHILUS
Improve intestinal function, promote good digestive health, and boost your immune system against different ailments.
BIFIDUS
Stimulates the immune system, helps prevent common digestive ailments and supports healthy growth and development of the digestive tract.
L. ACIDOPHILUS
Provides various health benefits in the gastrointestinal tract. Several studies indicate that this culture helps lower cholesterol by interfering with cholesterol re-absorption in the intestine.

I can’t find Wallaby Organic Yogurt in the store where I usually shop. What can I do?

What type of milk is used to produce Wallaby Organic Yogurt?
Our organic milk comes from small family farms in nearby Sonoma and Marin counties. These farms share our company’s commitment to producing organic products of the highest quality. We are proud to support dairy farms that are both organic and local. Please see About Our Farms for more information and photos.
I’m lactose-intolerant. Can I eat Wallaby Organic Yogurt?
In most cases, the answer is yes. The live cultures break down most of the lactose in the milk, allowing it to be digested without negative reactions. If you’re lactose-intolerant, we recommend you try a small quantity of yogurt first, or contact your physician for advice.
Does your yogurt contain eggs, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish or soybeans?
Wallaby Organic Yogurt does not contain any eggs, wheat, peanuts, shellfish or soybeans. We do make one flavor that contains coconut (our Nonfat Pineapple Coconut Yogurt), but there are no other tree nuts in our yogurt. Yogurt is the only product manufactured in our plant.
Does Wallaby Organic Yogurt contain gluten?
No, there is no gluten in Wallaby Organic Yogurt. All of our products are gluten-free.
Does Wallaby Organic Yogurt contain artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, MSG or gelatin?
No. Wallaby Organic Yogurt does not contain any artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, MSG or gelatin. We never add anything artificial to our yogurt.
Are all of your products organic?
Yes. All the products we make at Wallaby Yogurt Company are certified organic by Quality Assurance International, Inc (QAI). Look for the QAI and USDA organic seals on all of our packaging. Find more information about organics here.
What does the kosher symbol on your packaging mean?
Our kosher symbol certifies that Wallaby Organic Yogurt is manufactured under the Kashruth supervision of the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of San Francisco, in full compliance with Jewish dietary laws year round, exclusive of Passover.
Can Wallaby yogurt be consumed after the date stamped on the cup?
The code date on the cup is the "sell by" date. When properly refrigerated, our yogurts will usually retain their quality and taste for one week beyond this date.

Unfortunately, our small offices and production facility are not suitable for tours. We do not offer tours at this time.
My local recycler does not accept #5 plastic. What can I do with my empty cups?
We chose #5 plastic because it allows us to use a much lighter cup, reducing the amount of plastic used in the first place. Many recyclers will accept #5 plastics, but we realize some do not. If you cannot find a recycling center in your area that accepts #5 plastics, reuse is always best. Our customers have found creative ways to reuse our colorful yogurt cups as toothbrush holders, snack cups, or as part of various arts & crafts activities. We would love to hear your creative ideas for reusing our cups! Write to us here!
Are plastic lids available for the 6 oz cups?
When we designed our 6 oz cups, our desire was to help the environment by reducing the amount of plastics used. We realize that reusable plastic lids may be useful to store leftover yogurts. If you are interested in receiving reusable lids, please contact us here. Be sure to state your request and include your full mailing address. We will mail lids to you at no charge.
