Not Your Average Greek

Not Your Average Greek

Delectably rich, thick, and creamy... there's plenty to love about our new Organic Greek lowfat yogurt! Not only is Wallaby Organic Greek made with the highest quality organic ingredients, it's also strained. In Eastern Europe, this has been the traditional and authentic method for making yogurt, used for many centuries. However, some present-day yogurt eaters might be surprised to find that not all Greek-style yogurts here in the US are made in this traditional way.

When we decided to take on Greek yogurt, the founders of Wallaby tried every brand that they could get their hands on. What they discovered was that Greek-style yogurts that had been strained were far superior to those made using inferior processing methods (like added stabilizers and thickeners) which create an artificially thick texture.

Straining is a process by which excess liquid is removed from yogurt. By using this process, we achieve a genuine Greek yogurt that is naturally rich in protein and has a deliciously thick texture. We combine the time-honored method of straining with our proprietary unhurried cooking process. This gives our Organic Greek yogurt the distinct and delightful flavor for which all Wallaby products are known.

Let me tell you, I am no fake at all. When I tell you something is good, it is good. All the other yogurts I have had, my stomach repeats itself. This is the best yogurt ever!!!! I am not exagerating and I am lactose intollerant and I feel no pressure. Sometimes I will go and have another. The fruit to the side is great and sometimes I put honey in it first then the fruit comes in bit by bit (because I don't want it to end) Best ever! I dont't buy any other now, and even when I cannot go to Whole Foods when I don't have a ride I am not buying any other. That's how good it is. Thank you for taking the extra care to do this, at least someone cares about their product.

First of all, I LOVE Wallaby! But, I'll admit I was a skeptic when it came to Greek yogurt. I've tasted a few other brands...and we'll just say I happily pushed the containers back to the person I mooched from. They felt like paste on my tongue and tasted not far from it. I'd pretty much decided I wasn't jumping on the Greek yogurt band wagon when yesterday I happened upon Wallaby Greek Yogurt. I thought, 'Ok. I love Wallaby, so I'll give Greek one last try before I declare it moot....' You'd be happy to know I took it to work today for lunch, and practically licked the container clean....Thanks, Wallaby! You've got me hooked!

I absolutely love Wallaby's Vanilla Bean Blended Nonfat Yogurt. I love the extra tanginess and and I actually prefer the lighter consistency. I'm frustrated that greek yogurt has become so popular that they're pushing regular-style yogurt off the shelves. I might try Wallaby's greek yogurt just b/c I love Wallaby but PLEASE DO NOT stop producing your Blended Nonfat Yogurt... I will seriously die if that happens. Thanks!

We don't have any plans to stop producing our signature Australian style yogurts. We've expanded into Greek yogurts but we still hold true to our roots. Thank your support and loyalty, Eva.

I recently made some dietary changes for health reasons and was not able to eat yogurt for a while. However, I was able to add back greek yogurt about a month ago. I struggled to find a plain greek yogurt that was not only made the right way, but that did not contain high levels of sugar (10+g per serving). I tried a few brands that fit the requirements, but not a single one is as good as Wallaby Greek, which might I also add, has the least amount of sugar by far. So, Thank You for making a quality product that is simple, delicious and healthy.

The only thing I ask is if you can consider possibly making a Greek Yogurt with fruit that does not have so much sugar in it, or that is sweetened with Stevia (not Splenda!). I know I'm not the only one out there that can't tolerate lots of sugar...which then also prevents buying certain products from brands we love.

In the meantime, I'll just keep mashing my raspberries and blueberries to mix in with my Wallaby Greek yogurt!

I discovered Wallaby sour cream by coincidence last week. Having European taste-buds I gave up on all Made in USA sour cream (and majority of food) shortly after my arrival. THIS SOUR CREAM IS PHENOMENAL! I read ingredients three times before I bought it because I could not believe that "somebody" in this country knows how to make sour cream.
I only wish Wallaby would make full fat white yogurt.
I never understood this USA made low/no fat BS.
